Switzerland/China - At the recently held DMC Die and Mould Show in Shanghai, China, Swiss-based Sarix premiered its SX 100 hpm Pulsar, a micro EDM controller.
The micro EDM machining company says that Pulsar is its fifth micro EDM controller generation in the evolution of the actual micro pulse shape (MPS) generator, which is based on the company's analogue digital pulse (ADP) and direct pulse motion (DPM) devices.
According to Sarix, Pulsar ADP combines the huge digital processing power of modern electronics with speed accuracy in the forming of extended analogue nano and micro pulses, while Pulsar DPM brings a faster EDM-axis reaction for micro sparking efficiency with very fine micro EDM performance.
Both the ADP and DPM devices allow for the Pulsar generator to reproduce and control complex pulses at nanosecond scales and that the Pulsar generator platform offers benefits in technology towards higher micro EDM machining performance, the company notes. Its technolgy is said to improve speed, while reducing electrode wear rate and surface finishing in micro EDM drilling and 3D micro EDM milling.
